Introducing the Reason Fitness Team
Meet the fitness experts ready to help you achieve your fitness goals and your potential.
If you’ve ever browsed the internet looking for workout advice, you know how difficult it is to identify programs that work. Even experienced gym-goers get caught up in workouts that promise massive gains in six weeks or less.
That’s why our gym is so valuable for so many people. Instead of doing the research yourself, we’ve done that part of the work for you. All you need to do is show up and give each workout your all.
Some people get their motivation from slow and steady improvement, while others thrive on competition. No matter what your style, we offer a space where you can see results more quickly than other gym routines, as long as you put in the hard work.
What sets CrossFit apart from other workouts and gyms is that we believe in combining strength with endurance for maximum performance. We want you to get strong and capable and see the difference functional strength can make in your life. You’ll build confidence and learn to persist toward your goals both at the gym and outside it
Our gym combines every aspect of exercise science, ensuring that you get the results you want. We offer proven workouts to build energy and endurance. We combine that with sensible eating plans that help you hit that sweet spot where you lose fat while you gain muscle.
We want our gym to be a thriving like-minded community of fitness enthusiasts that support and encourage each other. We aim to do this by combining individual training with group classes of people at your level and coaches that understand your particular needs and goals.

Why Health and Fitness is important to me: As a kid, I was both overweight and constantly sick. Stomach flus, fevers, colds, etc. Being Ill often, and being chubby, was so common, it was a "part of life." It wasn't until I went to college, where I was introduced to a different way of viewing health.
I started working out more, I started eating differently. I noticed how I started to feel. More energy, more enthusiastic, less sick. Growing up I also suffered through physical injuries. I fractured my left arm at the age of 5. I had surgery at the age of 11, for a torn ligament in my left foot. In that surgery, doctors also place two small middle screws on the outside of my feet to create an arch, because I was extremely flat footed. I was also diagnosed with lower back scoliosis at the age of 12. At the age of 17 I was hospitalized from excruciating back spasms, so bad I could not walk. All to say, I know exactly how it felt to be sick, hurt, and unhealthy. So when I was introduced too different, it became my lifestyle. I can easily say I am healthier as an adult than I ever was as a kid/teenager. Why Coach: I started Coaching at the age of 16, for a youth basketball program. First time getting a true feel of what Coaching entailed. First time I was coached was during college, that’s when I discovered CrossFit. I did an intro class and I was immediately hooked. I was gravitated to the challenge. In college I studied Sports therapy and rehab. The original goal was to continue schooling and pursue athletic training. But after I graduated, I started doing body work at the gym I attended. And I noticed that a lot of the athletes were new to the sport of CrossFit, and that motivated me to help. In professional sports, athletes have access to endless help and guidance from coaches, trainers, dietitians, etc. So, in my mind I thought, “I can be that for our day to day individual.” Personally, I saw how much I progressed in fitness having guidance from a coach, I wanted to pay it forward to others. I love seeing people challenge themselves, pushing to be a better version of themselves through fitness/intentional movement. That challenge mirrors our day to day life. When we conquer the fear of lifting heavy, we are training ourselves to overcome uncomfortable situations in the real world. I saw how much of an impact it made on me, and how much impact it has made for those I’ve had the pleasure of working with, it’s really fulfilling for me. I know this is exactly where I belong.

Luke began Crossfit when he first heard about it from an old football friend of his. Once getting to know more and more about it, he had found it value in bettering a person's quality of life, including his own. As an overweight and potential diabetic child Luke knew he would have to make a change in lifestyle and Crossfit fit perfectly with him.
One of his first workouts was “Cindy”-consisting of pull-ups, pushups, and air squats. After struggling to get through the simple workout, it helped define where his level of fitness stood and wanted to improve it from then on. Luke has a heart for Crossfit and its values through community and is currently attending Azusa Pacific University to complete his B.S. in Applied Exercise Science.

Ismael (ish for short) born and raised in EAST LA, I'm the youngest of 3 brothers. Fitness is important to me because it's given me confidence in myself. Growing up I was always the chubby kid that got picked last for any sport. When I got to my heaviest weight I decided to make a change for myself I wanted to feel good look good and above all feel healthy.
It’s been a long road of learning and still learning till this day. I’ve put in countless hours to make the change and has made me the person I am today. I am proud to refer to myself as an athlete something I never associated with myself. I love helping others and pushing them to do the hard work because I know the struggle, I’ve always been humble being on both sides of this journey so I’m always willing to help anyone and everyone to my best ability. Along the way I picked up on photography after a friend of mine gave me the push by simply telling me “you have a great eye for this” and that’s what pushed me to invest in this hobby over the years it’s definitely grown into a passion that has kept my mind busy wanting to learn more and more and share with everyone my vision of what I see. I love to capture the raw effort and moment of an athlete to display the hard work that one cannot see when going through it. The best joy I get out of it is the reaction to my work the wow’s and oohs and smiles make it all worth it.

Growing up in suburban Orange County, Tim spent half his time in the water either surfing or swimming. When he joined the US Army in 2010, he realized that he had a huge deficit in his strength, highlighted by the amount of physical training he was doing in the Army.
While searching for a program that would help him fix his weaknesses, a friend suggested doing the “Filthy Fifty” at the local globo gym. While recovering, he realized that Crossfit would help him become a better Soldier and athlete. Since then, Tim has halved his “Filthy” time and nearly tripled in strength. In his spare time, Tim still loves catching waves, or eating pints of Ben and Jerries’ Cherries Garcia.

Hi, my name is Edward Masuda. I am from El Monte CA and graduating from Arcadia high in 2017. I am currently a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of La Verne studying Kinesiology with a focus on Strength and Conditioning.
I grew up playing sports my whole life, primarily football when I got to high school and was given the opportunity to play at the collegiate level at La Verne my freshman year. I got really into powerlifting when I was in high school then my senior year I met Eric and Luke as my strength and conditioning coaches who introduced me to CrossFit and Olympic lifting. Since then I’ve been hooked on learning and understanding how the body works and how it can improve. Fitness is important to me because it helps improve your quality of life. For me personally after working out I have so much more energy and I have a happier mood. I am able to feel good and move well.
I love what I get to do every day. I find CrossFit to be an incredible framework for constant self-improvement. It's written in its culture. As we seek to not only change what our bodies look like and push ourselves to levels we never thought attainable, we actually begin the journey of mastery.
Here’s the thing: not everyone has the talent to be a professional athlete. I learned that first hand as my obsession with training grew. However, everyone has the potential to be a top performer relative to their individual goals. CrossFit has created a canvas that allows us to create, experiment, and even make mistakes. I love to be able to take what I am continually learning and help people chase their goals and realize their capabilities.I have trained collegiate and high school athletes, project managers, lawyers, teachers, law enforcers, and soccer moms. They all show up for various reasons: to look better, to feel better, to have more energy, etc. We are all essentially chasing self-improvement. I have also put in the hours and chipped away to become a mediocre athlete after starting off as a very terrible one. My pursuit of excellence is never-ending, and I want to work with those that are willing to work towards the same.
