For 15 years I’ve been helping people improve their diet through a multi step process.
For the next few weeks, Coach Drew and myself will be sharing more about how that has evolved in our own personal journeys as well as how it’s grown and evolved in our coaching careers.
Step 1. Ownership
It all starts with ownership. And if you cannot own this next statement – you will be stuck, forever.
You are the only person responsible for what you eat.
Until you internalize this the other steps don’t matter.
This will especially be true once you start to make some progress and see some success.
When you start to make better choices for yourself – surprise! it is unlikely that you are going to get the support you expect from your family, friends, and coworkers. They are not consciously trying to derail you, I promise.
At the end of this week, take notice, reflect and and count how many times you were encouraged to make a better choice with your nutrition, and how many times you were encouraged to make a poor choice. Include all advertising in that count.
If you do that you’ll likely realize how important it is to put your success in your own hands and not anyone else’s.
It’s your life to live and you have the power to make it better. To take the first step… and take ownership.
Are you going to take ownership? We’d love to hear how you plan to start. Let us know here.
