Athlete Spotlight: Vince Pryor
Finding Freedom in Fitness
By Coach Luke Karsana
Vince is currently a regular attendee at the 5:30 am class and has been back with us (since shut down) for about 2.5 months.
What most people don’t know about Vince is that Vince has actually been with us since 2014. I was 19 years old when I met him. Crazy.
Since 2014, Vince has been fitter than I and most people who have walked foot at the gym. He’s lifted hundreds of pounds over his head, into a squat, and from the floor.
In September, Vince reached out to me and communicated that since he stopped training regularly, caring about what he eats– he’s had a hard time with the daily things he was doing. He is a frontline worker doing overnight shifts as a travel nurse in several different locations. His lifestyle, in my experience, makes it tougher to make health a priority.
“I know I’m out of shape because I shouldn’t be the one struggling when I’m pushing (or pulling) someone on a stretcher. I need this for my job, my health, and for myself.”
3 Struggles He Was Dealing with
Feeling weak & not strong enough at his high demand job
Would feel drained during workouts and in the middle of his shifts
Had no idea where to start with what to cook & how much to eat
Since then Vince has:
🏼 Gained 14lbs of Muscle Mass
⚡️Feels more Energy throughout his day and his work shifts
🧠 Has learned how to enjoy (and make) the food that serves his goals
“My big thing was that I could make the food, but I just didn’t know what to make and you taught me what to look for in foods that I need.”
“You held me accountable and then you gave me the freedom to hold myself accountable.”
“I just feel stronger now. And I don’t feel as tired during my work shifts.”
Thank you for the opportunity to work with you, my guy.
